15 weeks! Finally finished painting the livingroom, and what a difference it makes. All four walls were originally dark grey, making you feel more like you were in a tomb, than a cozy livingroom. Now we're just waiting for our splurge at Ikea to arrive later this week from the mainland and we'll be all set to hunker down nice and comfy for the winter. I'm so excited! We've never had real furniture before! 7 am. coloring in a very cold van at the ferry terminal.

We FINALLY made it to the orthodontist this week after years of waiting until Aden was old enough.... and of course we found out what we already suspected... Aden will be getting a full set of braces, including night time head gear, in January. Poor guy, he's not too happy about it, despite his beaming smile in this photo... Ah, to be a teenager again... Applying the second of three coats of primer needed to cover the black paint the previous owners put there. More painting progress, this was the room that was black. It's a very large room and took 3 coats of primer to cover the black.  I LOVE the creamy white I've chosen in here, it looks strangely green in the photo but not at ALL in real life. It's a lovely sandy color, nice and neutral for the younger boys with all their bright colored, blues, greens, and natural wood furniture. One more coat and this room is ready to move in to! The dog pee room remodel continues ... The walls are "Gentle Clarity" from Fr...

I'm sure they see us coming when we approach the library now. Sam's favorite place to create chaos these days, all that space, all those books... the pee room When we moved in to this house one of the first things we discovered was that one of the main bedrooms, with carpet, has a stench of dog pee or/and body odor (this was the previous owner's gym room). We're now in the process of removing flooring and replacing or refinishing current hardwood floor underneath.   The room will also be painted but I'm still choosing colors...   This is Sam and I. Sam is breastfeeding. Those are my legs. This is Sam and I moments before the end of the hammock snapped, and we both were sent plummeting to the ground. My back felt it. Sam did not. Sam was breastfeeding. He didn't even notice we fell. :) Sam checks out the new place A first shot in the new house. My camera batteried died just after taking this and I haven't been able to find my recharger since we moved, so this...

I see this scene a lot these days... Sam climbing up to reach formerly "out of reach " objects. He always hears me coming, then turns back to the object to snatch it faster than I can. (ever-present patch of eczema behind the knees) Weeee I'm pulling myself to standing up now. "It was really hard to *neatly* cut the bangs of the very busy 10 month old baby who never sits still... but at least they're out of his eyes now.   *sniff* He's growing too fast."

raspberry bars Raspberry Oat Bars   * ¾ C butter, softened * 1 tsp salt * 1 C light brown sugar * ½ tsp baking powder * 1 ½ C rolled oats * ½ pint (1 cup) raspberries * 1 ½ C all purpose flour * 3 tbsp sugar   Preheat oven at 400 degrees and grease a 9x13 inch pan. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Combine the oats, flour, salt and baking powder; stir in creamed mixture. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Crush the raspberries and mix with sugar; spread over the crust. Crumble the remaining crust mixture over the raspberry layer. Bake for 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until light brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars. (Can be made with 10 oz. Raspberry Preserves instead of raspberries and sugar mixture) testing the new high chair We finally got to buy a high chair, we had been holding out until we made it to Vancouver to hit Ikea. Thank you Nana for my super cool high chair, I love to sit up...

Chicken Pox Mom's been a little slack on the 4th month photo set lately... so she's trying to make up for it before I'm into my 5th month, by taking about two-hundred and fifty thousand today. I guess when your so cute, there's a price to pay! Good thing I am still intrigued by the mere site of the camera strap still... or I might consider complaining to management.   Sam fell asleep in the backpack, here he is in the van, completely oblivious to the fact that his brothers are playing their hearts out at the park still... and he's been abandoned by them. Apparently all that hiking and fresh air knocks a baby out.
